Castream Mobile Multistreaming Update: Stability, Fixes & What’s Coming Next

The last couple weeks have been all about tightening up the core mobile multistreaming experience and smoothing out the little issues some users were running into — connection drops, streams not starting on the first try, preview weirdness, etc.

So we dug in, tracked everything down, rebuilt a few internal pieces, and pushed updates on both iOS and Android.

What’s Improved

• More stable streaming sessions
Parts of the pipeline were rebuilt so streams stay connected longer and recover better when the network decides to act up.

• Critical crash fixes
A couple crashes during start/stop and log saving have been fully resolved.

• Faster performance overall
Smoother previews, cleaner encoding flow, and an overall more responsive app.

• Android preview stretch bug fixed
Some Android phones were showing that tall, stretched “funhouse mirror” preview. Streams were always normal — it just looked wild in preview. It’s fixed now.

• New multi-platform chat (send + receive)
Chat is officially live in Castream:

  • YouTube, Facebook, and Twitch messages all appear in one unified thread
  • You can reply directly from Castream, and your message posts to all your platforms at once
  • Super useful for creators, livestream hosts, and teams managing multiple chats

What’s Next

We’re already working on:

  • Overlays (text, images, reactions, voice-triggered events)
  • Upgraded analytics
  • Chat sentiment analysis
  • More tools creators and teams have been asking for
  • Additional stability improvements as traffic ramps up

Huge thanks to everyone sending feedback, reporting issues, and helping us polish everything. Castream keeps getting better because real people are using it and telling us what needs attention.

More updates coming soon.
