🎉 Chat Is Live and Stable on Castream!
We’ve got some great news to share — chat is now fully working across Castream, both inbound and outbound 🎉
After tracking down a few connection-related gremlins, everything is now running smoothly and reliably.
Here’s what’s new and what you should know 👇
✅ Chat Is Now Stable (Inbound + Outbound)
You can now:
- Receive chat messages from your connected platforms
- Send messages back directly from Castream
- See messages arrive near real-time
- Stream with confidence knowing chat won’t randomly drop
We fixed a few edge cases related to how connections were being handled in the background, and the system is now much more reliable during live streams.
🎮 Twitch Users: One Quick Action Needed
If you’re streaming to Twitch, there’s one small step required:
👉 Disconnect your Twitch destination and reconnect it.
Why?
The original connection was missing a permission (scope) required for chat. Reconnecting updates that automatically and you’re good to go.
No data is lost. No settings reset. Just a quick reconnect.
📘 Facebook Pages & YouTube: Good to Go
- Facebook Pages: Chat now works through the data streaming API and is flowing correctly.
- YouTube: Chat is fully operational and messages arrive near real time.
If you’re multistreaming, you’ll see everything come through cleanly in one place.
🚀 What This Means
- Real-time audience interaction
- No more silent streams
- Reliable chat across platforms
- One step closer to a seamless live experience
We’ll keep improving performance and adding more features around chat (moderation, highlights, overlays, and more 👀).
Thanks for sticking with us — and as always, happy streaming.
