How to Connect Twitch to Castream via OAuth

You can stream to Twitch using Castream by connecting your Twitch account directly through secure OAuth authentication.

No manual stream keys. No RTMP copy/paste.

Here’s how to do it 👇


✅ Requirements

To use Twitch with Castream:

  • You must have a Twitch account
  • You must authorize Castream via Twitch OAuth
  • You must grant streaming permissions during authorization

Castream does not store your Twitch password. Authentication is handled securely through Twitch.


🔗 Connect Twitch to Castream (OAuth)

You can connect Twitch from either the app or web.


📲 Connect Twitch in Castream APP

  1. Open the Castream app
  2. Go to Settings → Destinations
  3. Tap Twitch
  4. Tap Connect Twitch
  5. You will be redirected to Twitch
  6. Log in and authorize Castream
  7. Once approved, Twitch will appear as a connected destination

That’s it — no stream key required.


🖥️ Connect Twitch in Castream Web

  1. Log in to Castream Web
  2. Go to Destinations
  3. Click Add Destination → Twitch
  4. Click Connect Twitch
  5. You’ll be redirected to Twitch
  6. Log in and approve the requested permissions

Twitch is now securely linked to your Castream account.


🚀 Go Live to Twitch

From Castream APP

  1. Open the app
  2. Toggle Twitch ON
  3. Tap Go Live

Castream will automatically handle stream key management and publish your stream to Twitch.


From Castream Web + OBS

If you're streaming from OBS:

  1. Open OBS Studio
  2. In Settings → Stream
  3. Set Service to Custom
  4. Enter your Castream RTMP URL
  5. Enter your Castream Stream Key
  6. Click Apply → OK

Start streaming from OBS.

Then:

  1. Open Go Live Dashboard
  2. Select Twitch
  3. Click Go Live

Castream will forward your stream to Twitch using your connected account.


🧠 Pro Tips for Twitch

  • You can update your Title, Category, and Tags before going live from the Castream dashboard
  • Recommended bitrate:
    • 720p → 3–4.5 Mbps
    • 1080p → 4.5–6 Mbps
  • Use OBS scenes for overlays and transitions
  • Twitch chat moderation remains managed through Twitch tools

❌ Limitations

  • You must maintain an active Twitch authorization
  • If you disconnect Twitch from your Twitch settings, you’ll need to reconnect it in Castream
  • Twitch-specific analytics and chat tools are managed inside Twitch
